Men Ricky Bobbys turboladede livsstil rammer et uventet hastighedsbump, da han bliver overhalet af den flamboyante og skrupskøre franskmand Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen, tv-serien ?Da Ali G Show?) og bliver forvandlet til et nervevrag. Ricky Bobbys bedste ven og medtumpe Cal Naughton, Jr. (John C.
